Malaysia: Personal Initiative Training for MSMEs

Client: Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia

Duration: Since July 2026

Description of the Project:

Together with Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), we are implementing a Personal Initiative (PI) Training project for small-scale entrepreneurs in Malaysia. The project will strengthen participants’ entrepreneurial mindset and business performance through an evidence-based, action-oriented training approach tailored to the Malaysian context.

The project begins with the contextualization of the existing PI Training curriculum to ensure that the training content, examples, and exercises are relevant to the needs of Malaysian entrepreneurs. Following the curriculum adaptation, we will conduct a Training-of-Trainers (ToT) workshop at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia to certify local trainers in the PI Training methodology.

To ensure a high-quality and sustainable implementation, we will then further provide continuous supervision and coaching throughout the rollout of the training. This ongoing support enables trainers to further develop their facilitation skills while maintaining fidelity to the PI Training approach.

The project is kindly supported by Prof. Michael Frese.
